We started off great with a 7:15am bus and seats to ourselves (my friends, at least). They had told us that they were not going to provide breakfast, but, they lied. They passed back breakfast bars, fruit, bagels, and water for us. We drove for 2 hours before our fist stop and the entire time I spent frozen. It was warmer outside than it was on the bus. Being frozen led me to buying some Costa hot chocolate for the bus ride, but we got the driver to shut off the air...for an hour or so, until he turned it on again. I slept for the second leg of the morning route and then we stopped for lunch and headed towards the Tintagel Castle, which is really just the ruins of the castle. We were there for 3 hours, which was at least an hour too long. There wasn't much to do but see the ruins and stare at the coast from the cliffs. Our pedometer did let us know that we did about 54 flights of stairs, just by climbing back up to the city where to the bus. We got back on the bus then and drove to the hostel, yes ho
stel. We were spoiled in Spain with 4 star hotels and we took advantage of them...we have since learned to appreciate our Valencia program.

That night a group of us had dinner at a Greek restaurant in the city. Aleesia and Jacqueline made us go because "Greek food is the best." It was my first experience and it was delicious. I may have been more excited had I been in Greece, but I'll make it one day. The man that owned the place was from Greece, and he had us sign a guest book because we were from America. We walked back to the hostel and took over one of the tables in front of the bar. We played BS, hearts, and ERS until a little after midnight.

We walked to breakfast, about 10 minutes from our hostel and got a little lost. We made it, however, and we were served and English breakfast, but it was a really, really sad attempt at a real English breakfast. I had so much better when Dara and I were in London, so I'm taking mis amigas there. Once we finished with breakfast it was time for the water sports activities. We had the chance to surf, paddle board or kayak. Aleesia, Jacqueline and I all chose to kayak and we were in the second wave of people. We were supposed to meet at 10, and we did, outside, in 50 degree weather, wearing little clothing and bathing suits. Aleesia actually started to use her towel as blanket because we were outside for 40 minutes before they told us we could go inside and wait. We only waited inside, though, for 10 minutes before walking down to the beach. It then took us 10 minutes to get to the beach and half an hour to get wet suits and put them on. By the time we got into the kayaks and in the water we had about half an hour of time left. We had to catch our bus at 2, so that meant we had to be done by 1 so we could get back, shower, and eat. The guy took us into a cave, and when all 10 of us were in there with the kayaks he tells us to turn around and go back, which was not easy. The cave was really small and the waves were pushing us farther into the cave and we were all facing inward.
Once back on land we stopped for a meal deal somewhere for lunch, in our towels and flipflops. I showered really quickly at the hostel then we hopped back on the bus to go to St. Ives. The bus ride was only an hour long. There wasn't much to do because it's a beach town and it was chilly. There were local stores, and we got free fudge! It reminded me a lot of Put-n-Bay. This city is known for its
clotted cream so on our way back from the dog beach (where we spent most of our time) we stopped at a cafe for a scone with jam and clotted cream. It was amazing. The scone was warm and the jam was homemade and the cream was a lot like a butter, but it's really hard to explain, it was just super great.

We got back to the hostel and the wifi wasn't working, so, of course, we left for dinner. For whatever reason Jacqueline and Aleesia were missing fried chicken, so we tried to find a place with chicken tenders, chicken burgers, etc. There were about 5 restaurants to choose from, the Greek place, a Thai place, a Chinese place, and English place, and an Irish Pub. We figured the pub would be good, because fried chicken is pub food, kinda. We walked in at 7:30 and they had already stopped serving food. What?! These people are insane. We left, and walked to Tesco, because maybe it's like Walmart and has pre-made fried chicken. It didn't. It did, however, have a 2 for 80 pence on candy, which included packs of Reese's with 3. So, 6 Reese's for 80 pence. Aleesia was stoked and Jacqueline actually came back the next day with others to stock up.
On our way back from Tesco we ran across a fish and chips take-away place and they had fried chicken. We got 5 chicken strips and fries for 5 Pounds. It was a great deal. We took it back to the hostel to eat and we started a trend. Other FSU people went for fish and chips and came back with this HUGE piece of fish, they all could've split 2 between the 4 of them, it was that big.
We went us to Jacqueline's room, and Aleesia and I brought our blankets with us so we laid on her full size bed to watch a movie. (Jacqueline's bed was a bunk bed, but it was a twin on top and a full on the bottom, and because the 5th person in the room didn't come, she got it to herself.) The wifi wasn't working, but Aleesia had National Treasure 2 on her phone, so we laid in Jacqueline's bed and watched that, while eating our 80 pence chocolates, until she started falling asleep, in which case we left.
Aleesia and I were in a room with Nicole and Emily, her roommates back in London. Emily had gone out for the night, and Nicole went to the pub for a while. We had just turned the lights off when Nicole walked in and instead of going to bed at midnight, it was more like 1:30 because we stayed up talking about Florence/Valencia and it's always interesting comparing the two.

We decided to sleep in and skip breakfast on Sunday, because it wasn't worth getting up early. We got on the buses and half an hour later we stopped at a park/estate for 3 hours. THREE HOURS. They're trying to kill us. We could walk through a house on the estate and walk through the gardens/multiple pathways throughout the park, but that was it. I just wanted to get back to London. Jacqueline, Aleesia, Christian and myself walked around for about an hour and a half until we decided to sit and play cards. We were surrounded by people, so we needed a game that wasn't that intense. I taught them peanuts and they love it. We played the entire rest of the time. Aleesia and Jacqueline were really getting into it, they were partners, and it was really entertaining. Christian and I were a little slow, because it's hard to try and watch everything going on at once, but we did win 2/3, so, there's that. We got back on the bus and they wanted to continue playing cards...which was a little impossible due to the small tray tables and 2 people being in front of the other 2. Aleesia tried to play Solitaire, which lasted about 5 minutes, then her and Brooke, played war between the seats. Brooke and I were in front of Aleesia and Christian so Brooke would be turned around and they'd be passing cards to one another over the seat. That also didn't last long.
We ended up in London around 8:30 and our first stop was to the computer lab to print off our homework. Aleesia and I tried 3 different computers and none of them were connected to the printer. Thankfully, Darren, our IT guy, went on the trip with us so he was in the building, but he just kept telling us to use different computers. Christian finally came down and got us onto a computer he once printed something from, and that one had the printer as an option, but it still wasn't working. Once Darren reset the server everything was okay and we took our accounting homework to their apartment.
It took us an hour to get through one of the practice exam problems. There was so much stuff to do and Aleesia and Christian were going really fast, but I think I have it figured out now. I really hate accounting. I hate this class. I don't ever want to be an accountant. It sucks. Once we finished the homework I went back to my place to Skype with Mom and Dad, and Christian and Aleesia, I learned this morning, played peanuts after I left. They asked me how the score worked again because Christian won once, but the second time Aleesia made it 46 in the hole and Christian wasn't far behind until they gave up. They didn't think that, that was possible.
