June 30

This morning w had our meeting with Lisa, which was about the fire drill. There were 6 of us, total called in, and it didn't set quite right with Brooke, Brittney, and myself. We were there because we'd be there for another month. She treated us like we were 4, okay, maybe we deserve that, but her "facts" were all a little off. For the most part, we were confused as to why, two of our flatmates, who exited the building after us were not included in this group meeting. One, who had been here since day one and the other, a favorite by the PA who made them leave. We voiced our concerns and it would be "looked into," but it won't be. I can honestly say that the way this was handled by the London staff made me really miss Valencia. I completely agree, we should have left, something should happen, but the way it went down really bothered me. We are required to write a 400 word letter to our parents, so, "when you die here, we can send it to them, in your own words." Great, I'm sure that's exactly what my parents want.

*Enter rant about London* The PAs aren't to the same standard as the PAs in Florence and Valencia, the staff aren't close with us, and nobody from the London Program does anything (my roommate, in particular, has been here for a year and didn't go on the weekend trips or many of the day trips and another didn't know how to get back from Piccadilly Circus, which took us all of 2 days to figure out). I am truly glad that I came to London for the summer, for the city itself, but I would not have wanted to spend an entire year with this particular FSU International Program.

Once the meeting was out we had our exams. I had to write an essay about 1 of 4 questions given to us in theatre. She had told us in years past people don't take the entire 2 hours and she couldn't understand why, but I figured it out. It was exactly like the ACT essay question. We were given a prompt, and sometimes she included an article or speech we should read to help us in our essay. In America, we do this all the time on standardized tests, but we've got a time limit of an hour or so, two hours would have been really pushing it. It made perfect sense to me, once I saw the format, as to why nobody ever used the entire time, I just though it was interesting that she didn't know why.

I got back when they were cleaning our apartment, so Brittney and I went and sat next door until they were done. Once everyone was back from finals we discussed the fire situation some more, and by we I mean my entire apartment (except Nikki, because she's never there). Then I attempted to run. I went farther than expected, and the gash on my leg started to bleed, which was expected, but I may take a break for a while.

JT's friend, Victoria, is studying in London, so I met her and we went shopping for later that night. We got back, ate dinner, then the card playing started. It didn't last very long before my apartment started drinking. Then by 10:30, there were about 20 people in my very tiny kitchen/living room area, we were very snug, but it was nice. At 11, JT, Victoria, Aleesia and I left for Trafalgar Square. We climbed the lion statues, and sat in the rain while we watched Big Ben shut down and go off at midnight. It's officially July, and it's insane to think that we only have a month left.
