July 6

This morning we were awoken by this awful, old woman hacking up her lung, every ten seconds, around 6:30 in the morning. She was up for another 2 hours, and so were we. We didn't have to be up until 10:30, but, there we were, up at 6:30 and not getting another wink of sleep. We did lay in bed until 10 though, because neither of us felt like doing much.

We walked to the grocery store to get breakfast (as badly as I wanted a waffle, it was a bad idea) which consisted of crackers, yogurt and fruit. It was really expensive, but, I needed it, so I splurged. We walked back to the hostel to get our things, and to the train station. We walked around the station for 20 minutes before realizing we were at the wrong one. Why does Brussels have mute than one train station? So, we snuck on a train the took us to the other station (a 3 minute ride, so we took our chances) because I was not going to pay 2.10€ for a 3 minute train ride. We were successful, and we waited at the other station for our train. The train comes once an hour at X:37. Weird time. Once on it, we made ourselves comfy for the 3+ hours. I slept for the first hour or so, wrote my blog post, ate my free chips and berries, and waited. There were no Wi-Fi or chargers...I've been on better trains, this one was a little disappointing, but I only have to do it once.

Once we were at the station we walked towards the people. Everyone was piling out and going the same direction, sip we assumed that was the direction of the city center. Along the way we passed the castle or church, and the war monument. Then we made it into the city. The stores were all getting ready to close, so some of the streets were empty, but once we found the center square it was nice. I love Luxembourg. I can't say we didn't get enough time there, because there's nut a whole lot more to do, but it was nice just walking through old and new areas of the city. It was peaceful and the weather was gorgeous (it didn't rain once and it was about 70°). I'm glad we decided to come here, if only for 18 hours.

We found Wi-Fi and walked to the chocolate shop, that led us to Luxembourg. They served hot chocolate with different types of milk, and with or without alcohol. We had the option of 3 dozen, or so, chocolate spoons, basically. It was a cube of chocolate that we melted into our milk of choice. I got one that was dark chocolate mixed with white chocolate. It wasn't spectacular, but the store itself was amazing. It was just filled with different types of chocolate.

We went out in search of dinner, and ended up at Subway, because we're cheap, and we needed to get out to the hotel. Even though Google maps assured me there was no bus that took me to the airport, it lied. We walked until we saw the bus we needed pass us, then we followed it to the stop and hopped on the next one. It took about 30 minutes, and once we were at the airport, we walked across the way to our hotel. It was our last official night of travel and we got a nice, hot shower, a TV, and a bedroom we didn't have to share with any weird people, it was great!
