Thanksgiving

November 26

The day started with Spanish class, which was ended early due to an FSU Valencia American Football game. I got help with my power point and then went up to my room to do something productive, like macro.

Dara and I went to lunch, because we both needed a break. She ditched our dinner date the night before, for a guy, so I had to get caught up. He actually ended up walking by where we were...he didn't notice us, but I though it was kinda sketchy.

We, the FSU students, took a bus to Tony Roma's, the restaurant where we'd be eating Thanksgiving dinner. The menu choice was very interesting, but no one was really complaining. The FSU faculty joined us, so that was kind of fun. Overall it was one of the best Thanksgivings I've ever had. Some students made speeches, and our program director, Ignacio's, daughter was there trying to be the center of attention. She's about 7 and speaks both English and Spanish. She wanted to read some of the speeches but she was too quiet and she kept laughing, and we'd cheer anyways, and that made her giggle more, it was hilarious and adorable. It was just a great night.

My friends and I walked back, but we took every long way or back road we could. Lia was a little upset with her roommates, so we were trying to distract her, I think it worked. I also think they're fine now, for the moment. We rode a few carousels, sang Christmas songs as we walked, took some cliche middle school bathroom pictures, went to a bar, it was great. I'll repeat that over and over again, because, it's true. We came across a few pigs (men) along the way who were very rude and obviously did not want to continue talking to me because I was, "being rude," and I was, because this guy was a jerk and his job is to ask if we'd go to whatever club he represents, not follow us halfway down the street. That was not okay, and I was getting angry. And then there was another guy in a car, he was a pig too, just take my word for it. I made it very clear to him that he was one, as well, so, no worries.

Mi familia
Mom, well everyone, Skyped me when I got back, but that's just because she didn't want me to forget her. Dad had told me to take my "family photo," on Thanksgiving, like we do at home, and I did and sent it with the caption, "Mi nuevo familia," which is, "my new family." I'm not wrong...but, Mom was obviously feeling left out. ;)
